I have not shopped at KMart in almost a year because of my bad experience there. I purchased Benadryl and Breathsaver breath mints and when each item was rung up, the cashier asked my birthdate. I am in my late 60's and I did not find this funny to be asked for my DOB in front of customers in line behind me. I thought it was a training issue, so I called the assistant store manager the next day. He assured me the clerk needed to ask me that info. because meth. could be made from Benadryl. I have not been asked that at other stores and for people who look to be under 18, asking to see an ID would be the appropriate thing to do. I have not shopped at KMart since then. The assistant manager obviously needs training in customer service. It is for reasons such as this that KMart is declining.
